Setting up
Which phones work?
A recent iPhone or Android phone that films at 60 frames a second or more. Faster frame rates read more pitches; 4K at 60 is best.
Do I need a tripod?
Yes. The app measures the ball against the plate you marked, so the phone has to stay still for the whole session.
Can I use a video I already have?
Yes, if it was filmed from behind the mound with the rubber and the whole plate in view. Mark the plate on one frame and the app measures every pitch in the clip.
The numbers
How accurate is the velocity?
We are testing Zoota against a radar gun across hundreds of pitches and will publish the results. Until then, treat every number as an estimate from video, best compared session to session on the same setup.
Why does spin sometimes say estimated?
Spin is measured from the seams when the phone can see them near release. When it cannot, the app works it out from the movement and labels it as an estimate.
Whose strike zone is it?
An adult default zone, 0.47 to 1.05 m above the plate. It does not move with the batter's height.
Does it track batting?
Not yet. Exit velocity and launch angle are being built; the app shows them on sample data only for now.
Coaching
How does a coach see my sessions?
A coach invites you by name and you accept in the app, or you ask a coach in Find a coach and they accept. From then on they see your pitch sessions in the coach portal.
Can I stop a coach seeing my sessions?
Yes, at any time, in the app. The coach loses access straight away.
Can I watch a player live?
Not yet in the baseball app. Recorded sessions reach the portal once the player saves them.
Find a coach
Who sets the prices?
Each coach sets their own price range and how they charge: per hour, per session or per month. Zoota does not take payment for lessons; you agree the price and how to pay with the coach directly.
Are the coaches checked?
No. Coaches write their own profiles, and Zoota does not verify qualifications or background. Meet at a proper training facility, and bring a parent or guardian if you are under 18.
How do I report a profile?
Use Report this profile on the coach's page, or email support@zoota.co. We hide profiles that break our terms.
Your account
Which sign-ins work?
Email and password, Google, Kakao and Naver in the app, and Apple on iPhone. This website takes email and Google.
How do I delete my account?
From the app's settings, or by email if you can no longer sign in.
